Elegant finial box  Made of Brazilian Cherry and Lao Boxwood and finished with Carnuaba wax.  The threads are 16 threads per inch.  Overall size is 3.5 inches tall by 2 inches wide.  The base of the box and the lid are 1.5 inches tall and 2 inches tall respectively.       A presentation box for an engagement ring. I wanted to make a container for a ring that was elegant enough to use to present an important ring, but which also might continue to be of use.  The spindle is made out of African Blackwood and the box is made out of Lao Boxwood.  The overall size is 2 inches across by 1.75 inches tall.  The body of the box is 1.125 inches tall and and closes with 16tpi threads.  The spindle is 1.5 inches tall and has 20tpi threads.  It has been finished with Carnuba wax.       Finial Box I made this one extravegant just for the fun of it.  It is made out of American Black Walnut.  This is not a common wood to chase a thread in because it is so soft and also it is an open-grained wood.  The thread is 16tpi.  Overal it is 2.625 inches in diameter and 6 inches tall.  It has been finished with Carnuba wax.     Finial Box Another on the same theme.  This one is made out of African Blackwood and Lao Boxwood.  It has 16tpi hand chased threads.  It is 2 by 6.5 inches and finished with Carnuba wax.    Oliphant am I This one was kind of an experiment.  The base is made out of Lao Boxwood, the lid is Desert Ironwood, and the finial is Ivory.  The thread has a 16 tpi thread and the finial is joined by a 28 tpi thread.  The box is 2.75 by 5 inches and is finished with Carnuba wax.
