The Sistene Acorn

This is one example of the EggSpired series.  The egg kind of transmorgrified into a tree egg (an acorn) here.  It is made out of seven pieces and all of the joints are hand-chased threads.  The stand and the spire are made out of African Blackwood and joined to the acorn by 16tpi threads.  The image in the upper, right-hand of the graphic has been digitally modified to show the bottom of the spire which extends into the acorn.  The top of the acorn and the vessel are made out of Pink Ivory.  The top of the acorn is joined by 16tpi threads to the European Boxwood acorn cap.  The seed and piece of all-thread are made out of Lao Boxwood and, with the vessel, are joined to the stand with 20tpi threads.  The whole thing is 11.5 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide.
